History, beauty and convenience meet in this sunlit corner unit boasting old world charm in the sophisticated Tilden Gardens cooperative, located in the attractive, tranquil and preferred neighborhood of Cleveland Park only minutes away from downtown.

To experience Tilden Gardens' combination of impressive Tudor Revival style buildings (circa 1920s) surrounded by picturesque landscaped grounds of vibrant blooms and pea gravel pathways is to understand why former President Harry Truman and notable others chose to call this place home.

The magnificent building is nestled amidst five sylvan acres providing a sense of solitude and escape from the hustle and bustle of every day city life. Travel up to the second floor, open the door and immediately take in the tall ceiling and graceful archway of this charming unit's ante-foyer.  Hang up coats and stow away boots or umbrellas in the ample closet on the right.

Take a few more steps through the double foyer and there's room for a console to place mail, keys or personal items. Notice the layout uses space well; the separate formal dining room and kitchen are situated to the right adjacent to each other, while the foyer leads directly into the sizable living room.  The living room boasts views of the property's acclaimed terraced gardens!  Elegant finishes include striking dark oak hardwood floors, classic crown-molding and a decorative fireplace framed by a traditional mantle. The generously proportioned living room can easily accommodate a good-sized couch, two or more chairs, coffee table and large entertainment center, with plenty of room to move. At the end of a long work week, kick back and unwind in the obliging harmony of this pleasant space.

The new kitchen is situated off the formal dining room, which makes it perfect for preparing meals in privacy and buffers sounds while guests are seated in the dining or living room. A window sheds great natural light when cooking and the room features new white spacious cabinets, plenty of counter-top space, stainless steel appliances and gorgeous cherry floors.

Serve guests directly from the kitchen in the refined dining two with large windows, and a graceful entryway that leads into the living room.  Many years of entertaining family and friends with good meals and great conversation are certain to make this room a fantastic focal point.

The comfortable bedroom has two large windows and two closets. The vintage full-bath can be accessed through the bedroom or dining room and it has its original ceramic tile wainscoting and classic basket weave tiled floor.  Additional property high points include 9'+ ceilings, substantial sound-buffering plaster walls and historic six-over-six windows. Plus, this unit is one of the very rare ones to have two extra storage bins convey!

Step outside and enjoy the charm of Cleveland Park.  Rock Creek Park, the National Zoo and local favorites the Uptown Theatre, Yes! Organic Market, Calvert Woodley's wine and gourmet cheese selection, and unique gift shop Wake Up Little Suzie are minutes away. Walk several blocks either north or south on Connecticut Avenue and jump on the Red Line Metro from Cleveland Park or Van Ness stations.
