About the event

Welcome to Joe Himali’s History Salon, a gathering for people who are passionate about the history, architecture, and built environment of the Washington Metropolitan Area.

This salon will be held at the Old Carnegie Library, now home to the DC History Center and the Apple Store in Washington, DC. Completed in 1903 with funding from Andrew Carnegie, the building is one of the city’s most prominent Beaux-Arts landmarks and has long served as a center for public learning and civic life, making it an ideal setting for an afternoon devoted to history.

Doors open at 11:15 am, with the program beginning promptly at 11:30 am. The afternoon will include a lively speed-networking session, lunch, a trivia contest, and plenty of thoughtful conversation. We will also enjoy a special tour of the Kiplinger Library and the DC History Center’s newest exhibit, offering a behind-the-scenes look at some of the city’s most…
