Kalorama Walking Tour - “Center of Politics and Power”

Starting as a farm and rising above the City of Washington, Kalorama became a cultural and political epicenter of the city from the time Joel Barlow moved there in 1807.

Home to more Presidents of the United States than any other location in world (other than the White House of course!) today Kalorama houses Barak Obama, Jeff Bezos, the French Ambassador and many others.

Come explore the many architectural styles of the grand Pre-War buildings in the neighborhood – from Beaux Arts to Churrigueresque to French Renaissance Revival, to name a few. Hear the story of how one of the most important espionage events of World War II happened in Kalorama and many other interesting tidbits!
